A new book was recently released by one of my favorite authors. Dr. Shefali Tsabary’s The Awakened Family is now available and I’m looking forward to enjoying it. As with her other work, I expect it to affirm and reaffirm what I deeply believe about parenting: It is a courageous journey in which we have the opportunity to embrace, love, grow, and accept ourselves and our children again and again. Conscious Parenting is a movement that has taken root among those who wish to be thoughtful, joyful, self-loving, forgiving, ever-learning, and open-hearted partners with their children.
Our roles as parents are demanding. It would be enough if those demands were limited to the needs of our children. But no! We also have our own mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Finding ways to meet these needs, as well as fulfilling our many roles and responsibilities is a constant juggling act. Often, we feel overwhelmed, overburdened, frustrated, unsure, and irritable.
Many of us were raised to believe that being a parent means we know what is best for our child. We may believe that we have the upper hand since we’ve lived longer and had more experiences. Perhaps we think that being a parent automatically puts us in the role of the teacher and our child(ren) as the students. I can honestly say that my children teach me more most days (when I’m paying attention) than I teach them. And I’m forever grateful.
In my practice as an Intuitive Channel/Medium, my clients often request to channel with their child(ren). Bringing forward loving messages from the soul perspective of one’s child, no matter the age, is always an enlightening experience. Sometimes these sweet souls give us reminders of the importance of staying present and deeply listening. Other times they may make specific requests of their parent to help a situation flow more smoothly in the future. And yet other times they bring light and laughter and humor through for the purpose of connecting us directly to divine light. I never know what message will come through in my sessions with my clients. However, when we are focused on bringing in the light and guidance of our child(ren) from this higher perspective, it is always powerful and transformative.
No matter where you are on your parenting journey, I invite you to consider inviting in messages and communication from your child’s soul. It can be as simple as making the specific request for guidance in a particular situation. Get quiet, go inward, and listen deeply. If you do not ‘hear’ anything at first, don’t worry. You will. And if you would like some extra support getting there, feel free to make an appointment with me. It would be my honor to support you on your journey to Parenting with Spirit.
